Starring: Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Kyle Chandler, Colin Hanks, Thomas Kretschmann and Andy Sirkis
Directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings Fame)
Here goes my review of the movie:
I would admit that I haven’t seen the original King Kong (1933), so I was really excited to see this one.
The movie is all about the two characters the Beauty (Naomi Watts) and the Beast (King Kong) and believe me I would say amazing performance by both. Of course now you would laugh at me when I say amazing performance by a “graphically created” ape but you would never feel in the movie that character is unreal. GREAT GRAPHICS!!! Kudos to Jackson and his team.
There is no such thing called flawless and here in “King Kong” there are too much of flaws to be ignored. The biggest flaw which I and most of my friends felt was that most of the scenes were dragged too much. For instance the scene where humans where trapped in the stampede by the dinosaurs was endless and you would really feel to say to Mr. Jackson… “Please Stop It!!!”. There was one more scene where human sized cockroaches and insect attacked humans, this time we all said in chorus “Mr. Jackson, what are you upto? Do you want all of us to puke?”. So, the 3 hour saga of “King Kong” could have been actually cut to 2 hours and it would have been great movie.
The best part of the movie is that you never know that when “King Kong” would take over your emotions and you would feel bad whenever something bad happens to him. If it was a real ape then definitely he would have been nominated for Oscars (Best lead actor).
My final verdict “Movie is worth a watch.”
